Pokemon Go Updates: Hidden Pokemon Attack/Defense Stats Available Check

pokemon go update 0.35.0 (android) and 1.5.0 (ios) comes with the following, somewhat mysterious patch notes:

*implemented pokémon appraisal: trainers will now be able to learn about a pokémon’s attack and defense capabilities from their team leader (candela, blanche or spark) to determine which of their pokémon have the most potential for battle.

for example:
it should tell you iv like this: -100%- wooa - i have never seen soo much potential in this type of pokemon
-80%- great pokemon (players name) - that pokemon has so much potential
-60%- decent pokemon (players name) - this one is nothing special but it can still be an ok pokemon
-40% or less- not very impresive - this pokemon is not powerfull enough to become one of the best of its kind

niantic labs has released a new pokemon go update version 0.35.0 for android and 1.5.0 for ios, which adds the pokemon appraisal feature. players will be able to use it to learn about a pokemon's attack and defence capabilities, as measured by their team leader.

the update hasn’t hit the app stores for everyone yet, but the following screenshots were posted on reddit illustrating how the appraisal will work once the patch has been installed. specific data about the pokemon’s stats isn’t provided, but the game just gives players a general idea of if the pokemon is stronger or weaker than others.

a pokemon's attack and defence statistics have influence over how well it will perform in battle. as you can see in the screenshots above (shared by trainer tips, werwin11), the appraisal feature provides an overview of the statistics, as opposed to sharing the actual numbers.
