New Poe Skill Barrage Detail Analysis

there is a lot of content to update in poe version 1.0.3: passive skill tree has been changed; some new skill gems and some new unique items have increased in the game, and so on. barrage is the new attack skill gem in path of exile. i got the gem for my ranger with a bow. i farm the skill and conclude some tips to share with you.

as long as you play duelist, ranger, shadow or witch, you can get the skill gem as a reward after you finish the quest “the caged brute” in normal difficulty. what’s more, barrage is available with a bow or a wand. there is the video about the comparison of a wand and a bow with the skill gem as follows.

barrage is 40% damage effectiveness and 33% less attack speed. with physical damage, barrage can restore life and mana when it hits enemies. like split arrow, barrage has more than one projectile and additional projectiles increase as the gem levels up. but it differs from split arrow. barrage’s projectiles cause continual damage for monsters in battle, which is better skill for a bow to kill monsters that can restore life from you.

barrage can be linked to greater multiple projectiles or less multiple projectiles.
 

less multiple projectiles adds the projectiles to three and reduces 30% projectile damage.

greater multiple projectiles makes barrage six projectiles but the dps of barrage is reduced by 50%.

in addition, barrage can be linked to other support gems, such as increased critical damage, faster projectiles and so on.
